Logan Township Fire Company Website
Serving Logan
Township, its surrounding communities, and the Delaware River, the
Logan Township Fire Company came into existence in 2008 through a
operational consolidation of the Bridgeport Volunteer Fire Company
and the Repaupo Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company. Responding to
approximately 500 calls for aid a year, the Department provides fire
protection to Logan’s 6,500 residents and 27 square miles of area
ranging from farms to the 3,000 acre Pureland Industrial Park. The
Department also provides vehicle rescue services to the Township’s
roads, including two US Highways, an Interstate, and the Commordore
John Barry Bridge. One hundred percent volunteer, the Company’s
firefighters are dedicated professionals committed to providing for
the safety of Logan Township.

9/02/2011 - Bridgeport BBQ Chicken Dinner
The Bridgeport Vol. Fire Company
will be having a barbecue chicken dinner sale on October 8th. Meals
can be picked up at the Becket Road fire station between 1PM and
5PM. The donation will be $10.00, and the meal includes chicken and

9/02/2010 - Passing of Harry Ladner Sr.
The Logan
Township Fire Department would like to extend its deepest regrets to
the family of Harry Ladner for their loss. Harry was a Police
Dispatcher for West Deptford Township for 25 years and a member of
the Bridgeport Volunteer Fire Company. His obituary can be found here.
10/26/2009 - Tractor Trailer Accident

On Monday, October
26th at 12:40 PM companies were dispatched for a Tractor Trailer on
its side with entrapment. Crews from Logan Twp. Woolwich,
Gibbstown, Harrison Twp, Gloucester County EMS and Underwood Medics
worked in unison to free the trapped driver in just under an hour
and a half.
7/13/2009 - Jeep Fire

The
Logan Township Fire Company was dispatched for a car fire on
I-295 Northbound at mile marker 13.6 on July 13, 2009 at
1233. Upon arrival, the companies went in service and
extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported and the
companies cleared within the hour.

William Garnett
The Logan Township
Fire Company would like to congradulate Firefighter William Garnett
for passing Firefighter I.
4/08/2009 - Gloucester County Champer of
Commerce Chili Cook-off at DREAM Park
The Gloucester County Chamber of
Commerce will be holding its annual Chili Cook-off on June
13th. This year, Logan Township will host the event at the
Gloucester County DREAM
Park on Rt. 130. The Department will be
providing fire protection for the event and will require
members to be in attendance. If you are available, please sign
up at your firehouse, or contact Chief Rhoad with the time
you will be able to assist.
4/02/2009 - Deputy Chief Taylor Attends
the Congressional Fire Service Intitute Banquet

On April 2nd, Deputy Chief Taylor
had the opportunity to attend the Congressional Fire Service
Institute's annual banquet in Washington, DC. While there he
heard speeches from Vice
President Joe Biden, House Majority Leader Steny
Hoyer, and our own voice in Congress, Congressman Rob Andrews. He
also had the opportunity to meet retired Phoenix Fire Chief Alan Brunacini.

3/31/2009 - House Fire in Swedesboro
On March 31st the Logan Township
Fire Company responded to Mayhew Ave. in Swedesboro for a
report of a house with flames showing on the porch. Upon
arrival of 2516, WFD Captain Talarico reported the house to be well
involved and decided to perform defenseive operations. Upon
hearing the report,WFD Chief Barber requested the second
alarm. 1812 was second due and spotted a hydrant across the
street from the fire building and supplied Ladder 2316. Engine
1811 laid into the scene from Kings Highway and supplied Ladder
2516. Crews from both pieces immediately manned handlines and
assisted in the suppression efforts. Tender 1823 aided in
the extensive water supply operation
and Rescue 1828 provided manpower to both operations. The fire
eventually went to two plus alarms and was investigated by the
Gloucester County
Fire Marshall's Office
.
3/06/2009 - Motor Vehicle in Water

On March 6th LTFD responded to South Bridgeport
Rd. in the area of the train bridge to assist Logan Township Police
Department with a vehicle in the water. Upon arrival
Chief Oatman conferred with the officers on location, determining
that a full sized van was partially submerged in Raccoon Creek.
LTPD was unable to confirm the owner of the vehicle, and
whether or not anyone was inside. 1811 and 1815 responded to
location and DC Taylor and FF Parker suited up in the cold water immersion
suits. Crews used a roof ladder and an attic ladder to access
the vehicle. DC Taylor checked the vehicle for occupants.
After determining no one was inside, FF Parker joined him in
the water and assisted Heilman's Towing with removing the van from
the water. Later that day LTPD Chief Schmidt contacted
Chief Oatman to express his thanks for the assistance of the Department.
2/06/2009 - Site Status
The LTFD site is up and running. We will be
updating the site within the next couple of weeks.
